Wiltrout Is A Four-Time All-America In Javelin

AUSTIN, TEXAS—The University of North Carolina's Madison Wiltrout is an All-America in the javelin once again.
The Tar Heel standout picked up first-team All-America honors for the third time on Thursday on the second day of the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium. Including her second-team All-America honors in 2021, Wiltrout is now a four-time All-America.
On Thursday night, Wiltrout's throw of 55.04 meters (180-7 feet) was good for eighth place. She was making her fourth consecutive NCAA Outdoor appearance in the javelin, having finished third in 2019 and 2022 and 16th in 2021.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships will resume on Friday in Austin. Tar Heels Jesse Hunt and and Ethan Strand both will compete in the men's 1,500m final, while Craig Saddler II will take part in the men's 400m hurdles final. Parker Wolfe also will see his first action of the weekend in the men's 5000m.
