AUSTIN, TEXAS—Four more Tar Heels grabbed All-America honors on Friday on the third day of the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium.Â
Jesse Hunt (1,500m) and Parker Wolfe (5,000m) both earned first-team All-America recognition, while Craig Saddler II (400m hurdles) and Ethan Strand (1,500m) made the second-team in their respective events.
To start Friday evening for Carolina, Hunt finished sixth in the men's 1,500-meter run in 3:43.40 to earn first-team All-America honors. Strand finished 12th in 3:47.01.
Wolfe finished fifth (in 14:07.50) in a frantic 5,000-meter run. The sophomore has earned All-America honors in 2022-23 in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.
Saddler took ninth place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 49.70 seconds.
The Tar Heel men finished tied for 32nd place in the standings at the NCAA Championships, while the women tied for 63rd.
