Bercedo Selected To United Soccer Coaches List
August 15, 2023 | Men's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, MO. - North Carolina men's soccer forward David Bercedo was named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.Â
Bercedo, one of 32 men given the national recognition, was one of six players representing the Atlantic Coast Conference in the announcement.Â
Entering his first season in Chapel Hill, the Madrid, Spain native arrives after spending the previous three seasons at Quinnipiac and his freshman campaign at Ohio Valley. An All-MAAC First Team Selection a season ago, Bercedo was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team in 2022.Â
Last season, Bercedo's 14 goals led the Bobcats, as his 35 points on the campaign landed the forward fourth in the nation. In 60 career collegiate contests, Bercedo has scored 28 goals and dished out 15 assists.Â
The 2023 North Carolina men's soccer preseason continues this evening, as the Tar Heels welcome in-state foe High Point to Chapel Hill for a 7:30 PM clash. The regular season kicks off next Thursday, as Carolina hosts Loyola Maryland on Aug. 24. Â
