HERRIMAN, UTAH - The Premier Lacrosse League concluded its 2023 regular season this past weekend, with six North Carolina men's lacrosse alumni in action.
August 25 - Archers vs. Waterdogs
Connor Maher recorded a caused turnover and two groundballs, as the Archers fell short to the defending champion Waterdogs. Maher and the Archers will have an opening round bye in the 2023 PLL Playoffs, after earning the top-seed.
August 25 - Atlas vs. Redwoods
Chris Gray scored a one-point goal, however the Redwoods would come out on top. After finishing the regular season 2-8, the Atlas will be the seventh-seed in the playoffs, battling the Cannons next weekend in Boston.
August 26 - Cannons vs. Whipsnakes
Marcus Holman continued to make a case for the league's most valuable player award, scoring four goals, dishing out three assists, and collecting four groundballs, as the Cannons finish the regular season at 7-3 and earn the two-seed heading into the postseason. Holman led the PLL in the regular season with 44 points and 29 one-point goals.
Chris Cloutier found the back of the net twice on the offensive side of the ball for the Chaos. Defensively, Will Bowen had two caused turnovers and three groundballs, and Jack Rowlett recorded two caused turnovers and two groundballs. The Chaos finish the regular season at .500, collecting the fifth-seed for the playoffs.
