Top-10 Clash Between No. 3 Carolina, No. 8 Arkansas Set For Sunday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A big, top-10 showdown between fourth-ranked University of North Carolina women's soccer and eighth-ranked Arkansas will take place Sunday, Sept. 3, at Dorrance Field with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. ET.

- This will be the sixth meeting between North Carolina and Arkansas in program history with UNC leading the series at 4-1, including 3-0 in Chapel Hill.
- The last meeting between the two teams was Aug. 22, 2021, in Chapel Hill where Sam Meza scored the game-winner in overtime for a 1-0 victory.
- Sunday will be the second top-10 matchup for the Tar Heels this season, as Arkansas – the Southeastern Conference preseason favorite – checked in at No. 8 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll.
- Carolina, which has out-scored its opponents 12-1 this year, is coming off a 5-0 win over Gardner-Webb on Thursday night.
- UNC took a season-high 41 shots against GWU, the most attempted since taking 44 against Belmont on Nov. 16, 2019.
- Carolina had a 15-0 advantage in corner kicks vs. Gardner-Webb, the first time UNC has had 15+ since Nov. 10, 2022 against Virginia Tech.
- The Tar Heels' defense has held all of their opponents to under five shots: No. 10 Penn State (5), Cal (2), Wisconsin (1), No. 24 USC (5) and Gardner-Webb (1).
- The team has also held its last three opponents (Wisconsin, USC and Gardner-Webb) shotless during the first half in consecutive contests.
- UNC has not allowed a goal in over 346 minutes, dating back to a win over Cal on Aug. 20.
