Why North Carolina?
Growing up, North Carolina was my dream school. My family is rooted in Georgia, but I was always drawn to North Carolina. I was always watching their games growing up, I loved Michael Jordan, the UNC logo, the uniforms, the colors and everything else about North Carolina. It was always my dream school and when I received an offer to come here, it was over. I knew where I wanted to go.
What are you studying at UNC?
Psychology
Marcus' professional plans after football is finished:
I want to be a therapist. I am still figuring out what specific track and road I want to go down, but I know I want to be a therapist and have my own private practice some day.
What's it like having your brother on the team?
It's awesome. I love having him around. Now, my family plans to come to all of our home games. It's a cool feeling to have our family be able to come see us play together.
What was it like to play in front of Carolina fans in Kenan Stadium?
Last Saturday was great. It was my first ever start in Kenan Stadium and it was awesome. It was loud, my family was there and we came away with a win. I'm excited to be back in Kenan Stadium and out in front of Carolina fans again this Saturday.
What does Marcus' ideal day off look like?
I'd go skiing. My family and I went skiing a long time ago and I loved it. It's been a while since I've gone, but I'd love to go do it if I had a day off.
What is the one place you'd want to go if you could travel anywhere?
I'd like to go to Italy and eat pizza. Pizza is easily my favorite food. I think it would be fun to go to the place it originated from and try a lot of different slices.
What should someone expect when they join the UNC Football program?
This is a hard-working program. The expectations are high. Everyone who comes here is expected to work hard and compete each day. On top of that, you will also be surrounded by great people at UNC. I am grateful to have such good people around me while playing for a program that has high expectations.
What is the one thing that you can beat your brother (Derrik Allen) in?
This is an easy one. NBA 2K.
This is a tough one, but I'll go with UFC.
