Tran Wins Milwaukee Tennis Classic; Tar Heels Finish Strong Weekend In Cary

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After three days of competing at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and Fall Spotlight open, the North Carolina women's tennis team saw multiple wins along with a tournament winner.
In the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, senior Reilly Tran recorded a perfect 5-0 record to win the women's singles tournament. In the final, Tran defeated Wisconsin's Xinyu Cai, 6-2, 6-4.
It is the second time that Tran has won the event. She won the 2021 Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Thea Rabman advanced to the quarterfinals before dropping her first match.
In Cary, Anika Yarlagadda picked up three ranked singles wins, Carson Tanguilig dropped her third round singles match and both UNC doubles pairs chose to walkover prior to Sunday's matches.
The Tar Heels will await the draw for the ITA Women's All-American Championship that begins this Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park.
