Rucker Named Bednarik Award Player Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Kaimon Rucker, the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week, has also been named the Bednarik Award Player of the Week announced Wednesday by the Maxwell Football Club.
The Hartwell, Ga., native led a North Carolina defense that racked up 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks and held the Gamecocks to -2 yards rushing. Rucker tallied eight tackles, five and a half tackles for loss and two sacks alone in the Tar Heels' season-opening victory over South Carolina.
North Carolina makes its 2023 Kenan Stadium debut on Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Appalachian State, a 5:15 ET start on ACC Network.
