Strong Start For Men's Tennis At Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—The University of North Carolina men's tennis team got off to a strong start at the Tar Heel Invitational on Friday night and Saturday, posting six singles wins and three doubles victories. The weekend's competition, a final tune-up before the 2024 regular season, also includes players from Columbia and Boise State.
In doubles action on the evening of Friday January 12, the Tar Heels picked up three wins. The three victorious UNC duos included Phillip Jordan and Benjamin Kittay, Will Jansen and Karl Poling and Peter Murphy and Patrick Schoen.
On Saturday, the Tar Heels picked up six singles wins in seven matches. Will Peters, Anuj Watane, Jordan, Murphy, Jansen and Kittay all won matches against competitors from Boise State.
The Tar Heel Invitational will continue on Sunday at the Chewning Tennis Center.
Carolina will begin its 2024 dual match season on Thursday January 18 in Chapel Hill against Campbell and NC Central.
