Barton Named USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Honoree

SPARKS, MD. – North Carolina men's lacrosse defenseman Paul Barton has been named to the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America list, announced Wednesday morning.
A product of Palo Alto, Calif., Barton was named a preseason All-America honoree for the first time in his career, earning honorable mention recognition.
Last season, the junior started all 14 games for the Tar Heels, leading Carolina with 17 caused turnovers, while adding 32 groundballs. Barton posted 11-straight contests with multiple groundballs, in addition to causing two-or-more turnovers in seven games.
In 2023, Barton was named an Inside Lacrosse All-America honoree and named to the Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-America list.
The Tar Heels begin the 2024 campaign on Feb. 10, traveling to Atlanta for a neutral site matchup with Mercer.
