Ramos Named To 2024 Glen Brand Wrestling Hall Of Fame Class

WATERLOO, IOWA - The Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced that North Carolina wrestling associate head coach Tony Ramos will be inducted as part of the Class of 2024.Â
Ramos is one of four individuals to be inducted in the class on June 21, which has combined for 13 NCAA All-Americas and two NCAA Championships during their collegiate careers.Â
A three-time NCAA All-America wrestler during his time at Iowa, Ramos capped off his college career as the NCAA and Big Ten champion at 133-pounds in 2014. During his time in Iowa City, the Carol Stream, Ill. native posted a 120-14 record, and was named Iowa's Male Athlete of the Year in 2014. After his collegiate career, Ramos represented the United States at the World Championships in 2014 and 2015.Â
Ramos joined the Carolina wrestling coaching staff in 2016 as a volunteer assistant and was promoted to assistant coach in 2018. In November 2019, Ramos was promoted to his current role as associate head coach. During his time on staff in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels have produced 14 All-America wrestlers, three NCAA finalists and two individual national champions.Â
