ACC Announces 2024 Football Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina will play seven home games and five road games as the ACC announced the 2024 football schedule on Wednesday.
The home slate is highlighted by in-state, non-conference match-ups with Charlotte and NC Central. In addition, the Tar Heels will face James Madison in its final non-conference match-up. In ACC play, UNC has home games with Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and NC State. Game times and TV information will be available at a later date.

Season ticket renewals and new season ticket deposits are on sale now. Returning season ticket holders can lock in their season ticket locations by renewing prior to Friday, March 8th at www.goheels.com/renew. New season tickets deposits can be placed by contacting the UNC Athletic Ticket Office at 919-962-2296. If you would like to sign-up for up-to-date single game or group ticket information, please fill out the Ticket Interest Form and a UNC ticket office representative will contact you.

North Carolina will open the season with a road contest against Minnesota at Huntington Bank Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 29. Last year, the Tar Heels won the inaugural meeting between the two teams and will now travel north to Minneapolis for the first time in program history.

After returning from Minneapolis, UNC will begin a three-game homestand when it hosts Charlotte (Sept. 7), NC Central (Sept. 14) and James Madison (Sept. 21) on consecutive weekends.

Carolina's home-opener against Charlotte will be the first ever match-up against the 49ers. The following weekend, the Tar Heels will once again welcome a first-time in-state foe when NC Central makes its first trip to Kenan Stadium.

In the final leg of its first homestand, UNC faces James Madison for the first time since 2016.

The Tar Heels will play their first conference road game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 28, when they travel to Durham to take on the Blue Devils. UNC is 5-0 against Duke since Mack Brown returned to Chapel Hill, including a 47-45, double-overtime victory last season in Chapel Hill.

After its trip to Durham, Carolina will host two consecutive home games against Pittsburgh (Oct. 5) and Georgia Tech (Oct. 12) before having an open date on Oct. 19.

Following the first of two open dates, the Tar Heels will travel to Charlottesville to square off against Virginia (Oct. 26) in the South's Oldest Rivalry followed by a trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State (Nov. 2) for the first time since 2021.

After its match-up against the Seminoles, North Carolina will have a second open date on Nov. 9 before its final three games of the regular season.

The Tar Heels will finish the regular season by hosting Wake Forest at Kenan Stadium on Nov. 16 before traveling to Chestnut Hill for its final road game of the 2024 season against Boston College (Nov. 23). Then, on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 30), Carolina will host NC State in the regular-season finale.
