Swim & Dive Hosts SMU And UNCA On Senior Day

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina swimming and diving team will honor its 16 seniors prior to the lone home meet of the season Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Koury Natatorium. The men's team will compete against future ACC member SMU while the women's team will face off with UNC Asheville.

Swimming and diving events will begin concurrently at 1 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies beginning at 12:40 p.m. A live stream is available on ACCNX.

The men's seniors being recognized are Wesley Barnett, Perry Becker, Daniel Chance, Kendall Ewing, Alex Hart, Patrick Hussey, Boyd Poelke and Noah Rutberg.

The women's seniors that will be honored are Delaney Carlton, Courtney Isley, Katja Pavicevic, Brieanna Romney, Lexi Rudolph, Aranza Vazquez, Ellie VanNote, Kat Ward and Alexandra White.

The Tar Heel women swimmers have recorded 19 NCAA B qualifying times so far this season led by juniors Georgia Nel, Greer Pattison and Elizabeth Sowards who have posted marks in three events each. VanNote and Michelle Morgan have achieved marks in two events apiece while Carlton, Pavicevic, Rudolph, Samantha Armand and Skyler Smith in one event each.

Vazquez owns the nation's fourth-highest score in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard heading into Tuesday's meet.

UNC's men swimmers have posted six NCAA B qualifying times this season led by sophomore Louis Dramm who achieved the standard in the 200 fly and 400 IM. Poelke reached the mark in the 100 fly as did Walker Davis in the 100 back, Ben Delmar in the 200 breast and Seb Lunak in the 200 fly.

The Carolina men are 3-0 in dual meet competition and the women are 2-0-1.
