CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Former North Carolina men's lacrosse midfielder Carson Clough was honored this past weekend at the Tar Heels' football home game against Pitt, after earning a silver medal at the 2024 Paralympics.
Clough, a native of Charlotte, competed in the 2024 Paralympics last month, finishing runner-up in the men's PTS4 division of the para triathlon. Clough completed the 750-meter swim in 10:42, finished the 20-kilometer bike race in 42:54, and ran the 5-kilometer run in 17:23.
Following a boating accident in 2019, Clough was introduced to paratriathlon in 2022 through the US Triathlon para virtual combine. Prior to September's Paralympics, Clough had over ten podium finishes in 17 World Triathlon starts, including a gold medal at the 2022 Paratriathlon National Championships.
A former member of the Tar Heel lacrosse program, Clough graduated from UNC in 2016, with degrees in biology, chemistry, and business entrepreneurship.
