Volleyball Downs Clemson In Four Sets

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina volleyball (18-2, 10-1 ACC) extended its winning streak to six games, beating Clemson University (8-14, 0-11 ACC) in four sets (25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22) on Friday and staying undefeated at home.
After a service error to open the first set, the Tar Heels instantly recovered and took the lead back for good two points later and cruised to a five-point set one victory.
Carolina kept it close in the second set, tying with the Tigers five times, but ultimately Clemson came out on top.Â
Clemson and UNC were close in the early goings of the third set. Carolina pulled ahead at 7-6 and then proceeded to go on a 8-2 run. The Tar Heels ballooned the lead to double digits before winning 25-16.Â
The Tar Heels fell behind 4-7 in the final set, but stayed composed, came back to lead 14-13 and didn't give the lead back for the rest of the set.

- UNC is currently on a six-game winning streak overall and has improved their winning streak over the Clemson Tigers to four.
- Mabrey Shaffmaster is two service aces away from passing Dawn Wood (1983-86) for fifth all-time after she produced four against Clemson.
- Taylor Eisert and Zoe Behrendt have recorded double-digit assists for seven straight matches.
- Safi Hampton tied her career high in service aces with three for the third time this season
- Erin Curtis tied her career high in service aces with two for the second time this season.
- Jackie Taylor notched a career-high in attacks with 16.
