CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina wrestler Spencer Moore has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon. The honor is Moore's first of his career.

Moore, a Tar Heel 125-pounder, was victorious this past weekend, winning the Open Division at the 2024 Southeast Open. In the event, Moore was one of seven Tar Heels to finish atop the podium.

In three matches, Moore went 3-0, outscoring his opponents 37-6 in the process. The Crittenden, Ky. product was victorious in the championship bout, defeating West Virginia's No. 14 Jett Strickenberger by major decision, 11-2.

Carolina begins the dual portion of the schedule this weekend, facing Drexel and Navy in Annapolis.
