
Tar Heels Headed To Wasabi Fenway Bowl Vs. UConn

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina football team has been selected to play in the 2024 Wasabi Fenway Bowl against the UConn Huskies. The Tar Heels will appear in a bowl game for the sixth year in a row and the 39th time in program history.

The Wasabi Fenway Bowl will be played on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. (EST) at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Rams Club members and season ticket holders will receive an email from the UNC Athletic Ticket Office with information on how to request tickets later this evening. The deadline for ticket requests is Friday, December 13 at 5 p.m. If tickets in UNC's allotment remain after the request period, those will go on-sale to the public at that time.

"We are incredibly excited to compete in this year's Wasabi Fenway Bowl and to bring Tar Heel Football to one of the most legendary venues in sports," said UNC Interim Head Coach Freddie Kitchens. "Fenway Park offers a truly unique and historic setting, and this game is a tremendous opportunity to celebrate the hard work of our student-athletes while creating unforgettable memories for our fans, families, and alumni. We're grateful to be part of this special event and look forward to embracing the incredible atmosphere of postseason football at Fenway Park."
Carolina finished the regular season with a 6-6 overall record this season. The Tar Heels will face UConn, which finished the regular season with an 8-4 record. This will be the fourth game between the Tar Heels and the Huskies and first since 2009.

Overall, Carolina owns a 15-23 record in bowl appearances.

Wasabi Fenway Bowl media day will take place Friday, December 27 at 11 a.m. in The 521 Overlook at Fenway Park, with team head coaches and captains, and Wasabi Fenway Bowl representatives. Both teams will also participate in special events while they are in Boston.
