Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes Florida For Top-12 Matchup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The sixth-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse team welcomes No. 12 Florida to Dorrance Field on Saturday, Feb. 17, for another ranked matchup. First draw is slated for 11 a.m. ET and the game will air on ACCNX with Brian Waer on call.

Heels vs. Gators
This is the 16th meeting between Carolina and Florida in program history with UNC leading the series at 12-3. This will be the 12th game played in Chapel Hill and UNC leads 8-3 at home. The Tar Heels' last loss to the Gators at home was on March 3, 2018, by a 17-10 score.
In the Last Meeting
The last contest between the two teams was on Feb. 18, 2023, in Chapel Hill with UNC posting a 12-5 win. Reilly Casey had three goals and two assists for five points. Alecia Nicholas made 10 saves.

The Tar Heels posted a dominant 19-6 win over Liberty at home on Tuesday night. UNC's 24 draw controls matched its program record for the third time. Darcy Felter had a career night with her four goals and two assists for six points. Reilly Casey also had six points behind two goals and four assists.

Two sisters will go head-to-head on Saturday: UNC's Gabi Hall and Florida's Maggi Hall. Gabi is a sixth-year defender while her younger sister is a senior attacker. Ella Cabrera's older sister, Emerson Cabrera, played for the Gators from 2019-23.

Carolina has also returned 77.7% of all goals, 83.2% of all assists, 79.55% of all points and 75.6% of all shots produced a year ago. The 35-player roster features student-athletes from two countries and 11 states with two native North Carolinians. There are seven grad students, nine juniors, eight sophomores and seven freshmen.
