Softball Falls To Clemson, 4-1

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Carolina softball team (20-6, 2-3 ACC) fell to Clemson 4-1, in game two of the ACC series on Saturday afternoon at McWhorter Stadium. With the win, the No. 14 Tigers (20-6, 4-1 ACC) clinched the weekend series.
Sophomore Kenna Raye Dark (4-1) recorded her first loss of the season in the circle, throwing a complete game, allowing just two earned runs, five hits with no walks and four strikeouts.
Despite outhitting the Tigers 6-5 in the matchup, the Tar Heels struggled to plate runs, with the sole RBI in the game coming from junior Carlie Myrtle.
Graduate Autumn Owen and redshirt sophomore Isabela Emerling both went 2-of-3 at the plate, combining for four of Carolina's six hits.
The Tar Heels will look to avoid the series sweep in the finale between the two teams on Sunday at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.
