Pro Heels: NWSL Week Two Roundup

The second week of 2024 National Women's Soccer League season was highlighted by Ally Sentnor's first professional goal and Dorian Bailey scoring the first goal in Bay FC's inaugural season.
Angel City FC
» Paige Nielsen (2012-15)
Angel City FC drew the Orlando Pride, 1-1, at Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Nielsen, a defender, logged a full 90 minutes. A crucial deflection by Nielsen was named the club's Save of the Match.
Bay FC

Bailey made history for Bay FC as the defender scored the first goal in club history, despite a 2-1 loss to Washington Spirit at Audi Field in Washington, DC. It was just the second goal of Bailey's professional career and first since 2019. Her goal came in the 11th minute, as she fired a shot from 10 yards out after receiving the ball from across the middle of the box.
Bailey also earned her first start with the club and played all 90 minutes. King earned another start and also logged a full 90 minutes.

Competing in its first regular season game of the 2024 season after participating in the NWSL Challenge Cup last weekend, Gotham FC secured a 1-0 win over the Portland Thorns at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.
Dunn started the match and saw 66 minutes of action to hold down Gotham's back line. Bell was available as a sub but was not used.
Houston Dash

Houston Dash battled Racing Louisville to a 0-0 draw at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas. Patterson earned a start for the second straight game at forward and logged 46 minutes. She drew a foul on the left to award the Dash a free kick, which was ultimately saved by Racing's goalkeeper.
