UNC's 3V8 Leads The Way In Day 1 At The GW Invite

WASHINGTON, D.C. – North Carolina's third varsity eight led the way on the first day of racing at the GW Invitational. Racing on the Potomac River on Friday afternoon, the Tar Heel 3V8 beat George Washington by more than eight seconds to claim first place in head-to-head racing.
Action continues on Saturday, with UNC facing off against West Virginia in the morning and Georgetown in the afternoon.
The Carolina 3V8, which crossed in 6:38.08, was made up of Gracie Keyt (coxswain), Jadie Ruth Wehe, Ella Adamek, Emma Dalton, Erin Morley, Julia Bucknavage, Sydney Hebert, Maria Anayiotou and Kelly Baker.
UNC finished second to GW in both the varsity eight and second varsity eight. The Tar Heels also have two fours set to race but conditions didn't allow those boats to compete.
