Ng's Ace, Streicher's 70 Lead Women's Golf In ACC 2nd Round

University of North Carolina sophomore Megan Streicher birdied the 18th hole Friday to shoot 2-under-par 70 and earn a share of second place after round two of the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, N.C.

Streicher's birdie moved the Tar Heels back into red figures for the tournament. Carolina shot 4-over 292 today and stands fourth at 1 under par after 36 holes.

Streicher, a Cape Town, South Africa, native trails Clemson's Isabella Rawl by a shot for the individual title heading into the final 18 holes. Rawl (67-71) leads at 6-under 138. Streicher (69-70) is in a three-way tie for second at 5-under 139.

Clemson produced the low round of the day (6 under) and leads at 16-under 560, three strokes better than Wake Forest (-13). Virginia is third at 5 under and the Tar Heels are fourth.

The top four teams in the 12-team field after Saturday's third round advance to the semifinals in match play on Sunday. The championship match is Sunday afternoon.

Carolina leads NC State by four shots, Florida State by five and Virginia by six.

Tar Heel freshman Reagan Southerland shot even-par 72 and sophomore Inez Ng made an ace on the 155-yard par-3 sixth hole, her first collegiate hole-in-one, and shot 74.
