Men's Lacrosse Partners With SECU Family House For Upcoming Game
April 9, 2024 | Men's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Carolina men's lacrosse program will use its upcoming game against Syracuse, to spotlight the vital work of the SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals.
The matchup between the Tar Heels and Orange is set for this Saturday, April 13, with opening faceoff from Dorrance Field set for 1 PM.
Located only a mile from UNC Hospitals, SECU Family House has been a beacon of hope and support for families facing medical crises for many years. It provides affordable lodging, meals, and a sense of community for families of adult patients receiving treatment at UNC Hospitals, allowing them to stay close to their loved ones during challenging times.
"We are honored to partner with SECU Family House our upcoming matchup against Syracuse," states Carolina men's lacrosse coach Joe Breschi. "Without Family House, UNC patients and their loved ones would incur substantial expenses above the cost of their critical care—sometimes not even having a place to stay when they need to be close to the hospital. I believe so much in their work, that I serve on the Board of Directors."
During the game, there will be opportunities for attendees to learn more about Family House and to support its programs through various initiatives, including fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns.
"We are incredibly grateful to the Carolina men's lacrosse program for their support," said Kelly Thompson, Executive Director of SECU Family House. "Their commitment to our mission will help us continue to serve patients and their families in need and make a positive impact in our community."
