Five Diamond Heels Named All-America By Perfect Game

OMAHA, Neb. – The UNC baseball team had five players receive 2024 All-America honors from Perfect Game Wednesday.
Outfielder Vance Honeycutt was named First Team All-America, relief pitcher Dalton Pence earned second-team accolades while Jason DeCaro and Luke Stevenson were listed First Team Freshman All-America and Gavin Gallaher was selected second team. It was the first All-America recognition for DeCaro, Gallaher and Pence.
Honeycutt was previously named Second Team All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Stevenson was selected to the organization all-freshman team.
DeCaro enters the College World Series with a 6-1 record with a 3.89 ERA. Pence owns a 4-1 record with eight saves with 71 strikeouts in 53.0 innings pitched. Stevenson has hit 14 home runs and collected 58 RBIs, while drawing a team-high 46 base on balls.
UNC opens play at the 2024 College World Series in Omaha, Neb., with a Friday matinee matchup against No. 12 Virginia at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, June 14 on ESPN.
