Spurs Select Ingram In 2nd Round Of NBA Draft, Bacot & Ryan Ink Deals

The San Antonio Spurs selected the University of North Carolina's Harrison Ingram in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday afternoon. Ingram was the 48th overall pick.
"I've been working for this my whole life," he told ESPN after his selection. "To be here in New York and hear my name called, I can't really explain how it feels. All glory to my family. The work wins. I put a lot of work in, I got injured throughout the [Draft] process, but I just trust the work and trust everything I did."
Ingram averaged 12.2 points and 8. rebounds per game as a junior in 2023-24 at Carolina, leading the Atlantic Coast Conference with 10.9 rebounds per game in conference play. He won the Danny Green Most Improved Player award from the Tar Heel coaches by averaging career highs in points, rebounds and three-point percentage.
Ingram posted double-digit rebounds 17 times in 37 games as a Tar Heel and was third on the team with 65 three-pointers. He also led Carolina in steals with 51, the most by a UNC player since 2017. He had 11 double-doubles and was third on the team with 80 assists.
After the conclusion of the draft, Tar Heel Armando Bacot (Utah) and Cormac Ryan (Oklahoma City) both signed a free agent, exhibit 10 contracts to join the professional ranks.Â
