VB Soars Past Eagles In Four

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina volleyball team improved their win streak to six on Sunday afternoon, defeating Boston College in four sets (25-19, 24-26, 25-23, 25-22) in Carmichael Arena.Â

With the victory the Tar Heels (10-1, 2-0 ACC) move to 10-1 on the season and remain an undefeated 7-0 at home.
Â
Senior outside hitter Mabrey Shaffmaster had a signature match, tallying a match-best 19 kills on a .308 clip with 13 digs, her third double-double of the season.Â
Â
In addition to Shaffmaster, both sophomore Safi Hampton and graduate Alexis Engelbrecht each had double-digit kills. Hampton recorded 13 kills, her sixth-straight match in double-digits, while Engelbrecht's 10 kills were the most she's had as a Tar Heel.

Graduate setter Taylor Eisert earned her first double-double in a Carolina jersey with 19 assists and 13 digs, while sophomore Zoe Behrendt had 31 assists.Â

Junior libero Maddy May led the defense with 16 digs and Jackie Taylor and Emani' Foster combined for four block assists apiece, a team-best.

The Tar Heels out-hit the Eagles .201-.138 and had nine aces from seven different players, including three from Behrendt.

Carolina was out blocked 14-7 by the Eagles and struggled with service errors, recording 12 in the match.Â

Up next, the Tar Heels travel to Durham on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a midweek matchup at Duke.Â
