Blue Takes A 6-5 Win On Saturday

Chapel Hill, NC-- The Blue squad rallied from a 5-1 deficit after four innings to pull out a 6-5 win over Navy in a six-1/2 inning scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Each squad had ten hits and two errors apiece.
Offensive Highlights: Gavin Gallaher was 3-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Alex Maderan was 3-4 with one run scored. Rom Kellis and Lee Sowers were both 2-3 with one run scored. Sam Angelo was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored, while Hunter Stokely was the only other player with multiple base hits as he was 2-3 at the plate.
Pitching HIghlights: Aidan Haugh, Cameron Padgett and Tom Chmielewski threw for Blue, with Walker McDuffie, Camron Seagraves and Dylan Weber pitching for Navy. Chmielewski gave up no runs on one hit while striking out three and walking none in 2.2 innnings. McDuffie struck out four of the ten batters he faced, with Seagraves fanning three of the eight batters he faced.
Defensive Highlight: Jackson Van De Brake made a great diving catch of a sinking fly ball down the right field line.
The Tar Heels will wrap up their first week of scrimmages on Sunday.
