Following the opener, Carolina will travel over to Charlotte to take on the 49ers of the American Athletic Conference on Sept. 6. The Heels will then return home to host FCS opponent Richmond of the Coastal Athletic Association on Sept. 13.
Â
The non-conference slate concludes on Sept. 20, when UNC travels to Orlando to take on UCF of the Big 12 Conference on Sept. 20. The Heels have an open week before beginning ACC play at home on Oct. 4 against Clemson.
Â
Carolina is open again following the clash with the Tigers, before heading out west for its first conference contest against Cal. The matchup with the Golden Bears will take place either Thursday, Oct. 16 or Friday, Oct. 17, which will be determined at a later date.

UNC will remain in the state of North Carolina for all of November. The Heels will welcome Stanford to Chapel Hill for the first time as a conference opponent for a Nov. 8 tilt at Kenan Stadium, before heading over to Winston-Salem on Nov. 15 to take on Wake Forest.
Â
The final home game of the regular season will be against Duke, as the Blue Devils drive over for a Nov. 22 contest, and the regular season concludes the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as the Heels head over to Raleigh to take on NC State on Nov. 29.
