Tar Heel Men Picked Third In ACC Preseason Poll

The University of North Carolina men's basketball team grabbed the third spot in the 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference preseason poll, the ACC announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Tar Heel freshman forward Caleb Wilson earned a spot on the Preseason All-ACC Second Team. Members of the media voted for the teams and the poll last week at ACC Tipoff, the conference's annual preseason media day in Charlotte.
Duke received 34 first-place votes and 866 total points to lead the preseason poll. Louisville finished second, taking the remaining 15 first-place votes and tallying 842 points overall. Carolina was third with 741 points, followed by NC State (710) and Virginia (623) in the top five.
Wilson tied for the third-most votes with 24 in a three-way tie for the final spots on the second team. He joins SMU's Boopie Miller (27 votes), Syracuse's J.J. Starling (27), Georgia Tech's Baye Ndongo (24) and Duke's Isaiah Evans (24) on the second team.
Wilson also received one vote for ACC Player of the Year and two for ACC Rookie of the Year.
