Trimble Named To Watch List For Jerry West Award

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the 20 watch-list candidates for the 2026 Jerry West Award, and North Carolina senior Seth Trimble made the list.
The annual Jerry West Award, named after the late Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player, celebrates its 12th year by highlighting the top shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball.
Trimble averaged 11.7 points in 2024-25, an increase of 6.5 points per game from the previous season and the third-highest average on the team. He set career scoring highs three times during the season. He led UNC in steals (45) and was second in rebound average (5.0), free throw percentage (.818), FT makes and attempts (112 for 137).
Trimble and the Tar Heels will host Winston-Salem State on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in their final preseason tuneup for the November 3 regular season opener against Central Arkansas.
