Team Blue Wins Fall World Series On Tuesday

Chapel Hill, NC-- The Blue squad jumped out to a big early lead and cruised to a 13-8 win over Navy in a six-inning game on Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium to win the Fall World Series.
Blue Offensive Highlights: Carter French was 1-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. French had a three-run triple to deep right-center. Jadyn Nunez was 3-4 with one RBI and three runs scored. Tyler Howe was 1-1 with one RBI and two runs scored. Howe also walked twice. Perry Hargett was 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Gavin Gallaher belted a 359-foot homer to right center. Colin Hynek was 1-4 with a double.
Navy Offensive Highlights: Jake Schaffner, who doubled, was 2-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Owen Hull was 1-3 with two RBI and a triple. Rom Kellis V was 2-3 with one RBI. Michael Maginnis had a double for the only other Navy extra-base hit.
Pitching Highlights: Six pitchers saw action, three for each squad. Camron Seagrave threw 2.0 scoreless innings while striking out four. Justin Mabe threw a 1-2-3 inning with one strikeout.
The Tar Heels will face NC State in an exhibition game at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park at 6:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 16.
