Team Records: Carolina 13-1, 1-0 ACC ; Florida State 7-7, 0-1 ACC
• Carolina is 13-1 for the first time since 2008-09.
• This was UNC's 499th win in the Smith Center (499-90, including 258-71 in ACC play).
• UNC allowed fewer than 75 points for the 14th time in as many games, the most-such games to begin a season since 1981-82 (the Tar Heels didn't allow 75 or more points in all 34 games that season, which culminted in a national championship).
• Carolina is 10-0 this season and 55-4 under head coach Hubert Davis when the Tar Heels hold the opponent under 40% shooting from the floor (the Seminoles shot 34.8%).
• Florida State came into the game forcing 17.5 turnovers. The Tar Heels committed eight, the sixth time in the last eight games UNC turned the ball over fewer than 10 times. The eight miscues led to one point for the Seminoles, the fewest points off turnovers by an opponent since Duke scored one on 2/8/2018.
• Carolina scored 20 fastbreak points, its most in a game since the Tar Heels scored 26 in the season opener vs. Central Arkansas.
• Caleb Wilson led all players with 22 points. He becomes the first UNC freshman to score 20 or more points in six consecutive games. Phil Ford was the only other UNC freshman to score 20 or more in five games in a row (in 1974-75).
• Wilson is the first Tar Heel to lead UNC in points, rebounds and assists since RJ Davis vs. Kentucky on 12/16/2023 and the first freshman to do so since Cole Anthony vs. Florida State on 2/3/2020.
• Wilson also led UNC with two blocks. He is the first Tar Heel to lead in points, rebounds, assists and blocks since Armando Bacot vs. Boston College on 1/17/2023.
• This was the seventh game when both Wilson and Henri Veesaar had double-doubles (the third game in a row). That already equals the third-most games with double-doubles by a pair of Tar Heels in a season.

Rusty Clark & Larry Miller 1966-67 8
Henri Veesaar & Caleb Wilson 7
Pete Brennan & Lennie Rosenbluth 1955-56 7
• For Wilson, it was his 10th double-double in 14 games, already the third-most in a season by a Tar Heel freshman. Only Antawn Jamison (13 in 32 games) and Armando Bacot (11 in 32 games) had more.

13 Antawn Jamison, 1995-96
11 Armando Bacot, 2019-20
10 Caleb Wilson
• Veesaar had 12 points and 12 rebounds. It was Veesaar's eighth double-double of his career, all of which have come this season. The first half was the first in which Veesaar did not score (had two points in two previous halves – second half vs. Navy and first half vs. Michigan State).
• Both Veesaar and Wilson have scored in double figures in all 14 games.
• It was Wilson's seventh game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.
• Wilson became the sixth Tar Heel ever with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The others (courtesy Jody Zeugner):
Billy Cunningham vs. Wake Forest in 1964-65 (35/19/7) ... Mitch Kupchak vs. Detroit in 1975-76 (30/17/5) ... James Worthy vs. Detroit in 1979-80 (24/16/6) ... Joseph Forte at Duke in 2000-01 (24/16/6) ... Luke Maye vs. Arkansas in 2017-18 (28/16/5).
• Wilson grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds and tied his season highs with nine field goals and six assists. He also had six assists in the win at Kentucky.
• The 16 rebounds are the most by a freshman since Day'Ron Sharpe had 16 vs. Miami on 1/5/2021
• Veesaar had a career-high six offensive rebounds.
• Kyan Evans made a season-high five three-pointers and tied his season high with 15 points. He also scored 15 in the season opener vs. Central Arkansas. It was the second time in his career he made five or more. He had made a total of four threes in the previous seven games.
• It was the fourth time this season Evans scored in double figures, the first time since he had 11 vs. St. Bonaventure.
• Seth Trimble scored a season-high 20 points. It was his second career 20-point game (27 vs. Dayton last season).
• Trimble tied his career high with eight made free throws. It was the fourth time in his career he made eight FTs in a game.
• Freshman Derek Dixon tied his season best with four assists.
• Jonathan Powell hit a pair of three-pointers, the sixth game this season he made multiple 3FGs.
• Carolina is 59-14 in ACC openers and 65-8 in ACC home openers.
• Hubert Davis is 57-24 in regular-season ACC games.
• This was the fifth time in the last 35 seasons UNC wore blue uniforms at home: vs. UConn on 12/6/1991, in the ACC/Big East Challenge ... UNCW on 12/31/2013 ... vs. Duke on February 8, 2020 ... vs. UC Riverside on 11/17/2024.
• Florida State was 12 for 40 on three-pointers. The Seminoles were the first opponent to shoot 40 or more 3FGs since Iowa took 43 on 12/8/2020.
• The 40 three-point attempts equal the third-most by an opponent in the Smith Center and were the most since Tennessee Tech attempted 40 on 12/12/1999.
• Carolina went 28-10 in calendar year 2025.
Next Game: at SMU, Saturday, January 3 (2:15 p.m. Eastern, The CW)
