Pietramala Named ACC Offensive Player Of The Week
February 25, 2025 | Men's Lacrosse
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Carolina men's lacrosse attackman Dominic Pietramala has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Pietramala, a redshirt-sophomore for Carolina, led the Tar Heels Saturday in the 13-12 victory over No. 4 Johns Hopkins with six goals.
The six-goal effort was a career best for Pietramala, becoming the first Tar Heel with six-or-more goals in a game since Chris Gray against Denver in 2022.
A native of Lutherville, Md., Pietramala leads Carolina this spring with 15 goals scored, sitting atop the ACC and landing in the top-three nationally with five goals per game. To begin the 2025 campaign, Pietramala's 15 goals through three games is the most for a Tar Heel in the opening three contests this century.
The Tar Heels have started 3-0 for the first time since the 2021 season, landing at No. 4 in this week's USILA Coaches' Poll.
Carolina returns to Dorrance Field on Friday night, hosting Penn at 5 PM. Tickets for Friday night's matchup between the Tar Heels and Quakers can be purchased here.
