Men's Basketball Will Open ACC Tournament Wednesday In Charlotte

North Carolina will open play in the 2025 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against either Pitt or Notre Dame.
The fifth-seeded Tar Heels will face either No. 12 seed Notre Dame or No. 13 seed Pittsburgh in the second round in the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The Fighting Irish and Panthers will meet on Tuesday in the event's opening round.
The Tar Heels finished the regular season 20-12 overall and 13-7 in the ACC, taking fifth place in the final conference standings.
The winner of Wednesday's game between Carolina and either Notre Dame or Pitt will advance to Thursday's quarterfinal round to meet Wake Forest. As the No. 4 seed, the Demon Deacons earned a double bye to the quarters.
UNC is seeking is 19th ACC Tournament championship and first since 2016. Carolina has a 108-52 record in the event, including 4-1 in the second round.
