David Ford Moves Into Lead At Hayt With Bogey-Free 65

David Ford made seven birdies in a bogey-free round of 65 Sunday to move into first place after 36 holes of The Hayt Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Ford (69-65) is 10-under 134, one stroke ahead of Alabama's Jonathan Griz (67-68) and three clear of Texas' Luke Potter (71-66).

Ford's second-round 65 was his seventh career round at or better than 65, tied his season best and equaled the best round of the tournament. Coastal Carolina's Owen Kim also shot 65 today.

The Tar Heels shot 9-under 279 in the second round to move into fifth place at 7-under 569.

Alabama (279-275) leads at 22-under 554. Virginia shot the lowest score of the second round with a 15-under 273 and is second at 17 under par.

Duke (-13) is third, Texas is fourth (-12) and Carolina is fifth. Only one other team in the field is below par (South Carolina at 5 under).

UNC's Keaton Vo shot 2-under 70 today and is 25^th at even par 144. Ethan Paschal, Maxwell Ford and Sihan Sandhu all shot even-par 72 today.

Ford has four individual wins as a Tar Heel, including two this season.
