Softball Falls By One Run To NC State

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina softball (34-14, 11-9) dropped a close game to NC State (23-24, 5-14) 5-4 on Friday, April 18.
Both teams traded runs in the second inning as Raeghan Carlson brought Sanaa Thompson home with a single to left field.
NC State responded with a two run fourth inning before Carolina responded.
Carlie Myrtle launched a moonshot of a home run over the left field scoreboard to bring the Tar Heels within one. Carolina tied up the game 4-4 with a passed ball scoring Lexie Roberts.
The Wolfpack took the lead with a home run in the seventh and went on to win the game by one.
Softball will look to win the series against the Wolfpack on senior day at 1:00 p.m. EST on ACCNX.
