April 23, 2025 | Women's Golf
Carolina is headed to the Norman, Okla., Regional as the No. 3 seed in the 2025 NCAA Women's Golf Championship.
Led by Aimee Neff, in her fourth season as the Bobby Galloway Women's Golf Head Coach, the Tar Heels are one of 12 ACC teams competing in a regional. Carolina will be playing at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club, home course of the Oklahoma Sooners.
UNC is one of 12 teams and six individuals slated to compete May 5-7 in Norman, one of six regional sites. The top five teams and the low individual not on one of those teams will advance from Norman to the NCAA Championship May 16-21 in Carlsbad, Calif.
This is the fourth consecutive season Carolina has been invited to play in a regional. Last year, the Tar Heels placed third in Auburn, Ala., and advanced to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2017.
Top-ranked Stanford is also the No. 1 seed in Norman. The rest of the field includes No. 2 Northwestern, No. 3 UNC, No. 4 Michigan State, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 7 Baylor, No. 8 Oregon State, No. 9 Tulsa, No. 10 Denver, No. 11 Furman and No. 12 Southern Mississippi.
The Tar Heels tied for fifth in stroke play and lost, 3-0, to Wake Forest in the quarterfinals of the 2025 ACC Championship last week in Greensboro. Sophomore Ing Iadpluem and freshman Katie Vu tied for 25th in stroke play.
