Pietramala Tabbed ACC Offensive Player Of The Week
April 29, 2025 | Men's Lacrosse
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Carolina men's lacrosse attackman Dominic Pietramala has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Pietramala, a redshirt-sophomore for Carolina, led the Tar Heels Saturday in the 14-12 victory over No. 10 Syracuse, with six goals and an assist. The weekly honor from the ACC is the second for Pietramala this spring.
The six goal and seven point effort tied Pietramala's career bests, becoming the first Tar Heel with multiple six-or-more goal performances in a season since Chris Gray in 2022.
A native of Lutherville, Md., Pietramala leads the Tar Heels this spring with 43 goals, ranking second on Carolina with 46 points. Pietramala's 43 goals is seven away from tying Luke Goldstock's single-season goal record (50 in 2015). The Tar Heel attackman, along with teammate Owen Duffy, were named nominees for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award, the preeminent honor in college lacrosse.
Carolina has earned the No. 2 seed in this week's ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship, squaring off with third-seeded Duke Friday evening. Opening faceoff between the Tar Heels and Blue Devils is set for 8 PM, with the matchup airing on ACC Network.
