Pitching Pairing Invited To USA Baseball Training Camp
June 17, 2025 | Baseball
CARY, N.C. – Carolina baseball arms Jason DeCaro and Ryan Lynch have been invited to the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.
Â
The camp will feature 56 of the premier non-draft-eligible college players for a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series at various venues across North Carolina from June 29-July 3. USA Baseball will name the final Collegiate National Team following Training Camp on July 3.
Â
The Collegiate National Team will play in the 45th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series in various locations across Japan on July 8-13. The remaining players from the Collegiate National Team Training Camp will play in a Fourth of July game against the Appalachian League Select Team at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis at 6:35 p.m. ET.
Â
DeCaro and Lynch earned their spots by being a part of one of the nation's best pitching staffs. The Tar Heels finished the season with the third best ERA and eighth best WHIP.
Â
Still the youngest player on the team, DeCaro continued his growth into his sophomore season. He wrapped up 2025 with a 9-3 record with 83.1 innings pitched in 16 starts. His 3.78 ERA was the 11th best in the ACC.
Â
The flamethrowing freshman Lynch lead the regular relievers in ERA (2.93) before joining the starting rotation in the postseason. His only three starts of the year came in just about the most high leverage situations you could dream up, the ACC Championship Game and two elimination games in the NCAA tournament. He was exquisite in all three outings, allowing just four earned runs in 16.0 innings with 18 strikeouts and a .167 opposing batting average.
