Hardy Named To Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

ATLANTA – North Carolina defensive back Will Hardy has been named to the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the Wuerffel Foundation announced Thursday afternoon.

Given annually as college football's premier award for community service, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy honors student-athletes who utilize their platform to serve others and create positive change in their community.

Hardy appeared in all 13 games a season ago for the Tar Heels, earning the start twice. The Lawrenceville, Ga. product tallied 34 tackles, including 17 solo and 17 assisted tackles, posting an interception in the Carolina victory at Florida State.

Through three seasons in Chapel Hill, Hardy has 94 total tackles, two pass breakups and two interceptions on the field, additionally earning three All-ACC Academic Team honors in the classroom. During his time at Carolina, Hardy has served as the football program's representative in Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), as well as volunteer experience with Team Impact and Habitat for Humanity.

The 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists and recipient will be selected by a national voting committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2025 recipient will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 12th, airing on ESPN. The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala will follow on January 31, 2026, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
