Women’s Tennis To Host Top-15 Matchup With Virginia

CHAPEL Hill, N.C. – No. 3 University of North Carolina women's tennis is set to host familiar foe in no. 14 Virginia Monday afternoon at Chewning Tennis Center. The top-15 matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
Both teams head into the matchup 3-0 while looking for their first ranked win of the season.
Last season, the Tar Heels and Cavaliers clashed three times with UNC going 1-2. Carolina's 4-0 win over Virginia came in the ACC title match to clinch the second-straight ACC Championship for the program.
Carolina is 7-3 against Virginia across the previous ten meetings.

- Freshman Anna Frey has started her collegiate career 3-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles matches with partner Tatum Evans.
- No. 23 Oby Kajuru defeated no. 5 Savannah Dada-Mascoll from App State on Saturday.
- Partners Brantmeier/Hamilton and Kajuru/Maltby moved to 2-0 this season in doubles action. Both pairs earned All-America honors in the fall after reaching the quarterfinals at the NCAA Individual Championships.
- Reese Brantmeier won the 2025 NCAA Singles National Championship and heads into the spring ranked no. 1 in singles.
- Brantmeier earned All-America honors in singles this fall making the senior eight-for-eight in All-America selections across her career.
- Carolina heads into the season ranked no. 3 in the ITA Preseason Poll.
