RALEIGH, N.C. - Ranked 11th nationally, the highest since 2021, the North Carolina wrestling program travels to eighth-ranked NC State, Friday evening in Atlantic Coast Conference action.

Against The Wolfpack
• Entering Friday evening, NC State leads the all-time series between the two programs, 64-62-3, in a series that dates back exactly 101 years to the date (Jan. 23, 1925).
• The Tar Heels are looking for their first win in the matchup since Feb. 1, 2013, a 30-6 Carolina victory.

Last Time Out
• Technical falls from Jake Dailey and Robert Platt fueled the Tar Heels over Virginia, 25-10, last Friday evening to open ACC Duals.
• With the win, Carolina has now won eight of their last nine ACC openers, and nine-straight meetings over the Cavaliers.
• On the night, seven Tar Heels were victorious. In addition to Dailey and Platt's bonus-point wins, Ethan Oakley (133), Luke Simcox (141), Laird Root (157), Bryce Hepner (165) and Nolan Neves (285) claimed decisions for the visiting Tar Heels.

New Faces, New Places
• Entering year three in the Rob Koll era, the program welcomed nine new faces to Chapel Hill this offseason.
• In addition to the seven freshmen, the Tar Heels welcomed two transfers, Bryce Hepner (Ohio State) and Kysen Terukina (Iowa State).
• Hepner and Terukina, consistent starters at their respective weights, are a combined 21-2 this season, with Terukina a perfect 6-0 in duals.

Knocking On The Top-10
• This week, the Tar Heels were ranked No. 11 in the NWCA Coaches Poll, the highest ranking for the program since Jan. 1, 2021, when Carolina was slotted No. 10.
• This week is the highest ranked Carolina has been entering the matchup with the Wolfpack since Feb. 7, 2021, when the No. 8 Tar Heels traveled to face No. 3 NC State.
