Women’s Tennis Punches Ticket To ITA National Team Indoor Championship

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 3 University of North Carolina women's tennis topped Charlotte 4-0 Saturday afternoon in the ITA Kick-Off at Chewning Tennis Center. With Saturday's win, the Tar Heels punched their ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Feb. 6-9.
Carolina started the day with two dominant wins in doubles to secure the doubles point. No. 3 Kajuru/Maltby raced to a 6-0 win before no. 11 Brantmeier/Hamilton clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over their opponents from Charlotte.
In singles action, no. 1 Reese Brantmeier downed her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, to give Carolina a 2-0 edge. Anna Frey and no. 51 Theadora Rabman each recorded a singles win to clinch the match for the Tar Heels, 4-0.
