Fencing Posts Strong Showing At NAC Friday & Saturday

CINCINNATI, OH - Fencing had another solid showing at the North American Cup on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14.
The sabre duo successfully appeared at the NAC with Vasko Atanassov and Samantha Maryash. Both Atanassov and Maryash won two bouts after earning a BYE. Atanassov finished 25th out of 209 fencers and Maryash wrapped up the day in 30th out of 162 fencers.

Mia Smotritsky and Kaityln Zanga finished in the top 45 out of 170 fencers. Zanga won her first bout of the day 15-2 before falling in the round of 64. Smotritsky won her first bout by two and then followed up the next round with a close loss to the No. 23 seeded fencer.
