April 6, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina men's lacrosse team was slotted No. 1 by the USILA Coaches Poll and Inside Lacrosse Media Polls, both announced Monday.
Carolina, winners of five-straight games and two consecutive top-three matchups, returns to the top spot nationally in the USILA Coaches Poll for the first time since March 22, 2021.
With Monday's top ranking, the Tar Heels have held the No. 1 ranking in the coaches poll for 35 weeks in program history, spanning across nine seasons.
The Tar Heels are 10-1 this spring, including a 1-0 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play, and a perfect 7-0 mark at Dorrance Field. The perfect home slate thus far is the best to open a season for Carolina since 2015.
Carolina, who earned 26 first-places votes, is one of three ACC programs ranked in the top-10.
Up next, Carolina travels to No. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday at 5 PM on ACC Network. This weekend's game versus the Fighting Irish is the eighth time in program history Carolina has taken part in a No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup.
