Baseball Wanders Out To Wilmington For Final Midweek Matchup
May 12, 2026 | Baseball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Diamond Heels head to the coast for their final midweek game of the year where they will face UNCW at Brooks Field in Wilmington. It is just the second non-conference road game of the year for the Heels in what will be their last contest outside of the ACC until the NCAA Tournament.Â
Carolina took a 14-5 victory in the home half of this year's series with the Seahawks back on April 15 in Boshamer Stadium. Jackson Rose, who is expected to get the start tonight, did so on that day as well. He was stellar in picking up his third career win, throwing 5.0 innings of one run ball with a career high eight strikeouts along the way.Â
In last year's trip to Wilmington, the Heels won in dramatic fashion thanks to a bases-loaded, two-out triple from Jackson Van De Brake in the top of the tenth that would lead to a 7-3 final score.Â
