CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners announced game times and television networks for the first few weeks of the 2026 season Wednesday afternoon.
As previously announced, the Tar Heels will kick off the season on Saturday, Aug. 29, in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic against TCU in Dublin, Ireland. That game is set for noon ET (5 p.m. local time) on ESPN from Aviva Stadium.
Carolina will take on East Tennessee State on Saturday, Sept. 12, in its home opener at Kenan Stadium, which is set for a noon kickoff on ACC Network. The matchup will be the first meeting between the programs.
In week three, the Tar Heels head to Clemson to open ACC play on Saturday, Sept. 19, at noon on ESPN from Memorial Stadium. It will be the second consecutive year Carolina has opened league action against the Tigers and first time the Tar Heels travel to Clemson since 2023.
The Tar Heels step out of conference play with a road game at UConn to open the month of November (11/7), which will also be a noon kickoff from Pratt and Whitney Stadium and broadcast on CBS Sports. It will be the first time Carolina has traveled to East Hartford, Conn., since 2009.
The ACC will announce the remainder of the game times on a regular basis throughout the fall, using either a 12- or six-day turnaround from week to week.
Carolina football will celebrate the 100th season of Kenan Stadium during the 2026 season with a series of special events, facility enhancements and fan experiences to honor 100 years of one of the most picturesque athletic venues in the country. The 100th season celebration will pay tribute to some of the most memorable moments in the history of Kenan Stadium, as well as provide fans with an upgraded experience on gamedays.
One of the most significant upgrades to Kenan Stadium for the 2026 season will be two new Daktronics videoboards on the east and west end of the stadium, as well as a new sound system with state-of-the-art speakers to deliver enhanced vocal clarity and wide coverage throughout the stadium.
Season tickets are on sale now and single-game tickets will go on sale starting Tuesday, June 2. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE.
