Men’s Lacrosse Earns No. 3 Seed For NCAA Tournament

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina men's lacrosse team has earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, earning the No. 3 seed as announced on the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Selection Show Sunday night.
The Tar Heels will host Albany in the opening round at Dorrance Field on Saturday at Noon.
Tickets for Saturday's matchup with the Great Danes are priced at $15. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, and can be purchased here.
Carolina is making its 35th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and collected the No. 3 seed for the fourth time in program history. The Tar Heels are 35-29 all-time in the national tournament and have advanced to 14 Final Fours, winning five NCAA Championships. Saturday is the second all-time meeting between the two programs, previously meeting in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
The Tar Heels enter NCAA postseason action sporting a 12-4 overall record on the year, including an appearance in Sunday's ACC title game.
First round games (May 9-10) will be held on campus sites at the higher seed, with the quarterfinals (May 16-17) hosted by Hofstra and Delaware. The 2026 NCAA Semifinals (May 23) and Championship (May 25) will be held at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Va.
