Nine Tar Heels Pick Up CSC At-Large Academic All-District Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Each year, the College Sports Communicators organization highlights student-athletes from across the country for their performances in competition and in the classroom.
In the at-large division consisting of men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, men's and women's lacrosse, and wrestling, nine Tar Heels earned Academic All-District team recognition.

Chloe Humphrey* – Women's Lacrosse
Kate Levy* – Women's Lacrosse

Megan Streicher* – Women's Golf
Mason Szewczyk* – Men's Lacrosse
Keaton Vo – Men's Golf
Elden Wood *– Men's Fencing
Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
Fink competed in all 13 meets for the Tar Heels and competed at the NCAA Championships on vault. The senior recently earned her degree in political science & management and society.
A member of Carolina's Final Four team, Haynes started in all 23 games this past season and was a key contributor to one of the best defenses in the nation. The rising redshirt sophomore is majoring in business administration.
One of the best to do it on the field, Humphrey tallied 109 goals to tie the NCAA record as a redshirt sophomore this spring. The two-time NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player is working towards a degree in business with a minor in advertising and public relations.
A second-team All-America, Levy posted a career-best season with 30 goals and 15 assists en route to Carolina's final four appearance. The sophomore is currently majoring in human and organizational leadership development and management, and society.
A two-time second-team All-ACC honoree, Sagues was a key member of Carolina's V8 crew this past season. Graduating this past May, she earned her degree in biomedical engineering.
Breaking records in her final season, Streicher set the UNC single-season record with a 71.32 scoring average while leading Carolina to an appearance at the NCAA Championships. The honorable mention All-America graduated with her degree in exercise and sport science – sports administration.
Starting in all 18 games for the Tar Heels as a sophomore, Szewczyk posted 17 goals and 12 assists this spring while leading the midfield unit in points. He is currently majoring in business administration.
Playing in 11 tournaments for North Carolina this year, Vo tallied 14 par or better rounds with four top-20 finishes. Wrapping up his collegiate career, Vo graduated from Carolina with a degree in communication studies.
Excelling in men's sabre, Wood earned a silver medal at the ACC Championships while becoming the first sabre fencer at Carolina to earn back-to-back third team All-America honors. One of Carolina's top-10 scholar-athletes, Wood earned his degree in psychology.
