Walker's had a tremendous fall. He's a guy that really stepped up and from day one had a major impact for us.
He's tall, he's got range and he's got great stick skills.
Walker is a very high IQ midfielder for a freshman and sees the field tremendously well.
He's got to get in the weight room and get stronger, but his athleticism and his ability to see plays before they happens are terrific.
General: A 6-5, 200-pound midfielder.
Prep: Was chosen as a 2011 Under Armour All-America...attended Salisbury School in Salisbury, Conn., his sophomore through senior years, where he was coached by Bobby Wynne...attended Providence Country Day School as a freshman...finished his career with 86 goals and 66 assists ...as a senior, he scored 23 goals and had 17 assists and was tapped as All-League in the Western New England Private School Association...had 21 goals and 14 assists at a junior and 11 goals and nine assists as a sophomore...a two-time All-America selection...was the Western New England Midfielder of the Year as a junior...earned second-team All-State honors his freshman year in high school at PCDS when he scored 31 goals and 24 assists...he led Salisbury to back-to-back Western New England Private School Association titles in 2009 and 2010...four-year honor roll selection and was a dorm prefect as a senior...won philosophy and religion course prize as a senior...senior year Merit Scholar...played four sports in high school...was a goalkeeper in soccer, midfielder in lacrosse, defenseman in hockey and also competed on squash team...two-time all-WNEPSA as a soccer goalie...Class B #5 New England squash champion.
Personal: Walker B. Chafee is the son of Mark and Amelia Chafee...undeclared major...was born February 7, 1993 in Little Compton, R.I. ...his father was a two-time All-America lacrosse player at Middlebury...his sister Lia was a three-time national champion horsebacker rider at Texas A&M University.

Section #1 (Lacrosse Related)
1. The best things about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player are the rich tradition of great teammates and the character building that goes along with being a Tar Heel.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is that he brings an outstanding and intense approach to make every player compete at his highest level.
3. Since last year the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are my physical strength, conditioning and shooting.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is Brendon Gilson (Delaware).
5. My greatest strengths as a lacrosse player are awareness and vision on the field.
Section #2 (Walker's Interests)
1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time interacting with new kids from school to broaden my social life outside the lacrosse team.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Dark Knight.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is the Jay-Z and Kanye tour.
Section #3 (Food and Beverage)
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included Subway subs and hot dogs.
2. My favorite beverage is Arizona Iced Tea.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is squash casserole made by my grandfather.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Time-Out.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is KFC fried chicken.

1. My most prized personal possession is my Native American lacrosse stick given to me by a good friend on graduation day.
